Abstract This paper describes observations on the air-borne pollen concentration in the Ascoli Piceno atmosphere in 1983. The pollen grains were collected using Hirst volumetric spore trap. 72 different types of pollen belonging to 47 families were identified. In order to consider the intensity and the lenght of the pollination of the main taxa, the annual pollination has been divided in three distinct periods: «initial accessory period», «principal period» and «final accessory period».
