Resumo

Recent developments in the design of nuclear systems require a more detailed examination of steam explosion energetics than has been necessary in the past. Of particular interest now are the dynamic aspects of explosions and the resulting dynamic loads on adjacent structures. A comprehensive approach towards such a goal is described and sample results are provided on 2D explosions from the recently proposed microinteractions model (the esprose.m code) and on the chemical augmentation of steam explosions with highly reactive metals.
