Resumo

In the past year, there have been new advances in oligosaccharide and glycopeptide synthesis, particularly for glycopeptides, a rapidly developing field of research. New protection and activation schemes have been developed, in particular for the formation of the linkage between the saccharide and the peptide. The new chemistry of both N- and O-linked glycopeptides is generally applicable and can be used for multiple and library techniques. Enzymatic solid-phase methods are becoming efficient and promise new opportunities in combination with chemical methods. Glycosylated peptide templates have been developed to mimic the interaction of oligosaccharides with their receptors.
