ResumoRenal colic is one of the painful conditions in emergency medicine practice. Opiates and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are the cornerstone of pain management in renal colic. However, alternative procedures should be considered in patients refractory to conventional therapies. We present a case of renal colic successfully treated by trigger point injection that was refractory to 150 microg fentanyl and 5 mg morphine.
