ResumoThe insect molting hormone ecdysterone was isolated in radioactive form after administration of cholesterol-4-14C to Podocarpus elata seedlings. Cholestenone-4-14C, however, was not significantly incorporated into ecdysterone by this plant. The biosynthetic implications of these results are discussed.
