Resumo

Abstract Polarized micro-reflectance spectra of BEDT-TTF (ET) based charge-transfer (CT) superconductors and conductors are analyzed and interpreted. The paper discusses results which have allowed us to differentiate between various structural phases for (ET)2X type salts, obtain information concerning the nature of the environment in the important structure-determining anion-hydrogen cavity of these salts, and in identifying impurities present in the salts. Possible relationships of the -C-C-H bending frequency to the electronegativity of the halogen atom in the anion- hydrogen cavity and to lattice softness are cited.
