Resumo

Abstract A new binuclear nickel(II) complex having the formula [Ni2(acac)2(tmen)2ox] (acac = acetylacetonate, tmen = N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine, ox = oxalate) has been characterized, and its crystal structure has been determined at room temperature. This crystal was obtained in its solvated form, [Ni2(acac)2(tmen)2ox]·2TCE (where TCE = 1,1,2,2-tetrachroloethane); orthorhombic system, space group Pcab (No. 61), with a = 20.172(4), b = 17.180(5), c = 13.132(3) Å, Z = 4, R = 0.044. The oxalate ligand acts as a bridging group between the two Ni(II) moieties.
