Resumo

The polypyrrole is electrodeposited on AZ91 magnesium alloys in alkaline solutions. The morphology and compositions are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and auger electron spectroscopy (AES), respectively. Cauliflower- and rods-like structure is observed, and the ratio of C:N:O is varied at different locations. The polypyrrole coatings deposited on AZ91 magnesium alloys change the corrosion potential of its substrate.
