ResumoAbstract Single crystals of chromium oxychloride have been prepared by the vapour phase transport method. Optical measurements have shown CrOCl to be a semi-conductor. An antiferromagnetic behaviour is observed for both CrOCl and CrOBr. Lithium can be intercalated electrochemically or through the butyllithium technique.
