Resumo

Using IR difference-frequency laser spectroscopy and 193-nm photolysis of acrylic acid, the rotation-vibration spectrum of the ν1 O-H stretching fundamental of trans-HOCO radical has been recorded and assigned. The assignment of the spectrum is based on the ground state combination differences, the −0.9% argon matrix-gas-phase shift of the band origins, the H/D isotopic shifts of the frequencies, and the chemical reaction rate with O2. The band center for the ν1 fundamental is 3635.702 cm−1. Sharp perturbations around N = 15 in the Ka = 0-3 levels and significant shifts of the Ka = 2-5 levels are observed in v1 = 1.
