Resumo

Hydrogen gas generation is observed in the wet cutting of aluminum and its alloys. This phenomenon is due to a chemical reaction between the fresh surface of aluminum and water. The reaction is sensitive to the freshness and it is safe and easy to control. Some trials were made to increase the hydrogen gas generation. The possibility is discussed of using this phenomenon as a hydrogen gas generator in the field of automotive engineering that uses a fuel cell.
