Resumo

The infrared spectra of solid H2S and D2S have been recorded between 350 and 60 cm−1 at 5°K and 77°K. Both substances gave five bands of librational and four of translational origin. On cooling to 5°K the bands show considerable sharpening and a small shift to higher frequencies. The observed spectra fit reasonably well with the group-theoretical prediction based on a structure P42(C3)4 for H2S.
