Currency Recognition and Detection

A new method is reported for the detection of indented impressions. The method depends on an electrostatic imaging technique. Impressions are more clearly detected than with the conventional oblique lighting techniques and latent images are found which do not respond to oblique lighting. The method is capable of routine and rapid use.
