ResumoThe problem of television and children is a subject that concerns everyone and that has sparked much debate. On the one hand, some speak of augmenting the role of television in the up bringing and education of children and of improving the content and effectiveness of children's television programs to make them more interesting and varied; on the other hand, others would limit the influence of television on the child so that it would not hinder the child's development of an enthusiasm for books, music, sports, etc., but, to the contrary, would increase his desire for knowledge. At present, more than one-third of the total programming of the Central Television Network is devoted to programs for children. Among them are movies and plays beamed at a broad audience of all ages, cartoons, documentaries such as "In the Animal World," educational telecasts, and, in particular, children's telecasts that are produced by the "Eaglet" Television Studio.
