Abstract In the previous articles on DECnet/OSI the focus has been on the technical aspects of Digital's implementation, alias Advantage Networks. The openness of Advantage Networks is both good and bad. It's good because you have the freedom to mix and match network devices to fit your specific needs. It's bad because a heterogeneous network environment will be very difficult to manage. In this article the discussion is on Digital's concept of managing a DECnet/OSI network management.
