ResumoThe results of an extensive investigation of heavy metal deposition in Walsall, West Midlands, confirm that metal deposition rates in urban areas are highly spatially variable. Deposition rates of both lead and cadmium show a general distance-decline relationship away from the industrialised areas in Walsall. The nature of the spatial variablitity of deposition in such areas raises questions over the area representativeness of isolated deposition measurements, particularly in areas of high deposition.
