Resumo

Abstract Abstract The article argues that the story arc of Moira transitioning to Max on The L Word provides an education for its audience, and, more important, it destabilizes the coherent subject that we most often see on television. This works to queer the address and thus enlarge the liberal humanist subject. Keywords: butchfemale masculinityqueertransgender Notes 1. While it is rarely explicitly mentioned on the show, the finale of season two featured Gloria Steinem starring as herself and included a discussion about the meaning of feminism with most of the main characters.
