She had been prescribed celecoxib, 200 mg/d, 10 months earlier for symptomatic osteoarthritis and had been followed with bimonthly visits thereafter. Her baseline creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels were normal at 88 µmol/L (1.0 mg/dL) and 3.9 mmol/L (11 mg/dL), respectively. In the last half of June 2000, her orthopedist doubled the daily celecoxib dose to 400 mg.
