ResumoAbstract The pH and pNa of aqueous solutions of sodium deoxycholate (SDC) were measured at various temperatures. The critical micelle concentrations (CMC) were determined by means of the crooked points on the plot of pH or pNa vs. the SDC concentration. The data obtained were interpreted thermodynamically, and changes in the enthalpy and entropy of micellization were evaluated, from which it was concluded that the hydrogen bond plays a very important role in the micelle formation.
