ResumoNuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods allow a wide variety of noninvasive measurements to be made on living animals and humans. The most extensively developed application of such methods is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain and other organs, which has already come to the attention of most biomedical scholars, many physicians, and even much of the lay public because of its widespread use in neurological research and medical diagnosis.
