Resumo

Abstract The Green's function and partitioning techniques have been applied to the case of some linear symmetrical tetratomic molecules in order to obtain isotopic rules for symmetrical and asymmetrical substitutions. The new isotopic rule obtained for the asymmetrical substitution is very simple in form and the agreement between the calculated and observed fundamentals is very good. The force constants, mean amplitudes of vibration, rotational distortion constants and Coriolis coupling constants have been computed and compared with other calculated and observed values, whichever is available. The agreement is quite good in all cases.
