ResumoAn absolute longitudinal steady state heat flow method is described for the determination of the thermal conductivity of a bar of Macloy G steel over the range 0 to 180° C. The results of this method are in good agreement with those of a comparative method against Armco iron that is used for the range 300 to 800° C and values are quoted for the full range which are believed to be accurate to about ±2%. Comparison is made with some previous determinations on a sample of Era ATV. steel.
