Resumo

Thermal engineering data in situ from Surveyor 1 indicate that the local lunar surface is highly insulating as was predicted from earth-based observations. The effects of non-Lambertian surface thermal emission, a feature of lunar infrared behavior also observed from earth, were apparently sensed. There is no evidence of a dust thermal blanket on Surveyor 1.
