ResumoThree-dimensional reticular metal foam is a porous material with excellent comprehensive performance for a wide engineering application. For these porous materials, our investigations on the octahedral structure model with body-centered cubic mode are comprehensively and systemically introduced, as well as the relevant physical models and characterized expressions for their basically physical and mechanical properties. The content relates to the tension, bending, torsion, shearing, fatigue, conduction, specific surface area and multiaxial tension-compression of the porous materials, including the electrical resistivity, tensile strength, elongation rate, elastic modulus, biaxial tension, multiaxial tension-compression, fatigue and specific surface area calculation, as well as the bending, torsion and shearing. From this structural model, a series of analytical models have been derived for the properties of these materials, and resultantly, a number of property relations can be deduced. These researches are well coherent, consistent and systematical, and the theoretical results have been verified to show good practicability by the experiment with the samples produced together with the large-scale production line in a specialized corporation. It can be quite expectant that these works have a good guidance or consultant function to design the material sort selection, preparation process optimization and final performance for this kind of porous materials.
