ResumoAbstract The NS 20 mouse neuroblastoma clone was shown to synthesize acetylcholine from labelled glucose or acetate as precursor of the acetyl moiety of acetylcholine; in both cases, the synthesis was stimulated by the presence of exogenous choline. In addition, we report that acetate is accumulated in the NS 20 clone by a mechanism that is highly temperature-dependent and is stimulated by the presence of externally added choline.
