Resumo

This study focuses on Clarice Lispector’s technique of fragmenting the modern subject in the novel A maçã no escuro. The fragmentation of subjectivity in this novel will be contrasted with Sartre’s theories on existence and Benedito Nunes’s thoughts on “language as drama.” What these approaches share in common is the attempt to escape from one’s psychological and cultural state.
