ResumoA claim is investigated that an early Dutch drawing of settlers in a Mauritian forest was done in 1677 by Governor Lamotius and portrayed a Dodo in its natural habitat. The sketch is from 1670, by or for Governor Wreeden, and the bird portrayed is the extinct endemic sheldgoose.
