X-ray Spectroscopy and Fluorescence Analysis

Primary processes in action of radiation on matter are described. Phenomena caused by ionizing radiation in matter in early stage related to chemical and biological effects are explained. As an important means to observe directly early events, pico-second pulse radiolysis method is introduced. Some experimental results obtained by the pico-second pulse radiolysis systems are presented. General guidelines for radiation processings are mentioned, from the point of specific character of radiation.
