ResumoThe gravimetric determination of selenium, by reduction of selenious acid in perchloric acid solution with hydrazine hydrate, has been studied in detail. Elemental selenium is completely precipitated in 3.2-5.1M perchloric acid at room temperature or 100 degrees C. One mole of selenious acid reacts with one mole of hydrazine hydrate to give elemental selenium.
