Abstract The results of a detailed implosion-explosion calculation for a supermassive star have been used to determine the hydrogen nucleosynthesis during the bounce. An extended network of nuclear reactions describing the CNO-Ne cycles has been employed. Dynamically unstable supermassive objects are shown to be of interest regarding the production of comparatively rare isotopes like 13C, 15N, 170, and 22Ne.
