Resumo

The object of this study was to validate the use of pulmonary wedge injection for the determination of pulmonary blood volume (PBV) in man by the double injection method. By combining unilateral pulmonary occlusion (UPAO) with arterial dye dilution curves, we were able to show that unilateral PBV computed from PW curves and from an independent method showed no significant or consistent difference.
