Resumo

Single-crystalline Pb2+ doped ZnO nanorods were synthesized by a hydrothermal method in the presence of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). The obtained Pb2+ doped ZnO nanorods were in diameters of ∼150 nm and in lengths of ∼3 μm. The nanorods grow along the [011¯0] direction. The Pb2+ doped ZnO nanorods show violet and blue emission bands centered at 415, 438 and 467 nm, respectively. The possible growth mechanism of the Pb2+ doped ZnO nanorods was also discussed.
