ResumoA protein kinase from rat liver nuclei stimulates RNA synthesis. The stimulatory effect is seen primarily with nucleolar RNA polymerase and only when rat liver DNA is the template. Phosphorylation of RNA polymerase appears to be another mechanism by which protein kinases regulate gene expression.
