ResumoConstruction of the newly developed polarization analysis neutron chopper spectrometer (POLANO) commenced in the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC), Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF). The POLANO is a direct geometry chopper spectrometer with neutron polarization analysis capability. In the suite of inelastic spectrometers, six instruments are now in operation. POLANO will be the only spectrometer dedicated to polarization analysis experiments. The primary phase of the construction will be completed by 2014 with beam commissioning scheduled for 2015.
