Resumo

Hotel Rwanda is a moving, disturbing, excellent film of great value and importance. Although greatly limiting direct exposure to visions of killing, it gives the viewer a sense of the horrors of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. But as a film should, it connects the viewer to people and their stories and to the remarkable story of a hotel manager who saved many lives. This wonderful film, both painful and uplifting, received three Oscar nominations: for best actor (Don Cheadle), for best supporting actress (Sophie Okonedo), and for best original screenplay. It deserved even more, including a nomination for best picture and perhaps best director. The film was directed by Terry George.
