The chemical composition of the essential oil of the fruits collected from Eucalyptus globulus trees grown in Portugal has been studied; 33 components were identified, representing 94.5% of the oil, which comprises roughly equal amounts of monoterpenes (50.4%) and sesquiterpenes (49.6%). The major components identified were aromadendrene (25.1%), followed by α-phellandrene (17.2%), 1,8-cineole (11.7%), ledene (5.83%) and globulol (5.23%). Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
