Charge transfer exciton fission in anthracene crystals

Magnetic field modulation of anthracene prompt electroluminescence has been observed for the temperature range 20–80°C. The modulation shows the same crystal orientation dependence as delayed fluorescence but is opposite in sign and smaller in magnitude. These effects are discussed in terms of charge transfer exciton fission.
