ResumoAniline can be electropolymerized in neutral and dry acetonitrile solution by potentiodynamic oxidation. This result suggests that protonation of aniline is not necessary for the polymerization. The resulting polymer is electroactive and stable. Its morphology and structure is similar to that of poly(aniline) obtained in aqueous HClO4 solution but more compact. The voltammetric response, either in aqueous or nonaqueous solution, shows two oxidation peaks with a charge ratio greater than one between the first and the second.
