Ionosphere and magnetosphere dynamics

In the following pages I will try to give an extract of some lectures given at English universities during the spring of 1930 regarding my work on the polar aurora during the last twenty‐five years. As to the different forms of aurora polaris, reference may be made to the photographic atlas of aurora published by the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (1).
