Thermal and Kinetic Analysis

The complexes of iodine with six polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons have been prepared. The thermodynamic stability of these complexes was studied by vaporization techniques and solid-state electrochemical cells. The vapor pressure of iodine over the complexes at temperatures of 55°–95° were determined by a colorimetric measurement of iodine vapor. Heats of formation of the complexes were estimated from the data.
