Resumo

The present article centers around the Socratic-Platonic influence on Epicurus' thought, evidencing a common vocabulary of ancient Greek ethics, that is: the notions of logismós, phrónesis, hēdonē and philia.Such notions are examined in the context of the Letter to Menoeceus, the Principal Doctrines and the Vatican Sayings.
