Resumo

Integral and differential cross sections and electron-impact coherence parameters have been calculated for the 6${s}^{2}$ $^{1}\mathrm{p}$ $^{1}\mathrm{P}$ transition in neutral barium using both the distorted-wave approximation and first-order many-body theory. Target-state wave functions have been calculated using Hartree-Fock orbitals along with configuration-interaction and intermediate-coupling mixing. Results are presented for electron-impact energies of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, and 100 eV. The cross sections are compared to available experimental and theoretical results.
