Resumo

Abstract A thorough rotational analysis of P, Q and R branches in the OO band of Cs2 at λ = 627 nm has been performed using Doppler-free laser polarization spectroscopy. Complete resolution of all rotational lines with rotational quantum numbers up to J > 300 and absolute wave-number measurements with a travelling Michelson interferometer to better than 0.001 cm−1 allow a very accurate determination of the rotational constants both in the X1Σ+g ground state and the excited 1IIu state of Cs2.
