Resumo

A numerical scheme for analytic continuation of a complex function using a fit to a rational fraction is described. The procedure is applied to Weyl–Titchmarsh’s m function for the case of predissociation by rotation in mercury hydride. It is shown that analytic continuation of the full complex m function, as compared to treating its imaginary part only, is preferable for very broad and nonsymmetric resonance shapes. This situation is particularly pronounced for the close-lying interacting resonances E (3,9) and E (4,9) for the HgH system, as calculated from Stwalley’s IC1 potential.
