ResumoThe isolation of sulfonate-amide 6 from the reaction of tresylate 5 with butylamine in aqueous buffer solution at pH 8.0 suggests a new mechanism for the modification and immobilization of proteins with polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether tresylate (1) and polysaccharide tresylates.
