Abstract The structure and the preferred conformation of feroxidin ( 1 ) are determined by spectroscopic methods ( 1 HNMR, NOE, CD). The absolute configuration is deduced from chiroptical data. Feroxidin represents the first 1-methyltetralin occurring in plants.
