SUMMARY The current knowledge of the life cycle, pathogenesis and epidemiology of S. vulgaris infection in the horse is briefly reviewed and some results of recent experimental work on these aspects of infection are presented. RÉSUMÉ Le cycle couramment connu, le rôle pathogène et l'épidémiologie de Strongylus vulgaris chez le cheval est résumé; quelques résultats expérimentaux récents sont indiqués. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Der gegenwärtige Stand der Kenntnisse über den Entwicklungszyklus, die Pathogenese und die Epidemiologie von Strongylus vulgaris Infektionen beim Pferd wird besprochen und einige Resultate neuer Experimente auf diesem Gebiet werden vorgebracht.
