ResumoThe method for the immunofluorescent detection of S‐cells in Pisum sativum L. after bromodeoxyuridine‐labeling, reported previously (Levi et al. 1987), has been modified with the use of the biotin‐streptavidin system and Texas Red as fluorescent tag. This improvement led to a marked increase in the potential of the method, permitting the determination of the labeling index also after short pulses (15 min), bivariate bromodeoxyuridine/DNA cytofluorimetry and a high resolution of the distribution of labeling over the nucleus.
