ResumoAbstract A wide range of new classes of early transition metal and actinide compounds have been isolated with the new amido and phosphido ligands −E(CH2CH2E′R2)2 (where R = alkyl; E = N, E′ = N, P, As and E = P, E′ = P). Structural and chemical properties of metal derivatives are seen to be sensitive to variations in the ligands. Dependent on the nature of the donors, monomeric complexes with pendant bases may be obtained. These may be used as precursors for the preparation of homo- and heterobimetallic compounds.
