ResumoThe article discusses, from the perspective of Social Studies of Science and Technology, the demarcation of science and non-science (boundary work) applied as political resource in the processes of decision-making. As an object of analysis are tackled public hearings held by Brazilian Congress to discuss the reformulation of the Forest Code. Are investigated the speeches of members of the "bancada ruralista" (brazilian rural entourage) and Embrapa researchers who participated in the hearings. Finally, we suggest questions about the application of scientific knowledge as information in the decision-making process.
